Cylinder condition and piston underside inspection is a useful tool to verify the condition of relevant piston running components such as liner, piston rings, piston etc.

Cylinder condition evaluation can be carried out as part of preventive maintenance, condition based maintenance to extend overhaul intervals, but also to investigate component condition after failure. Piston running components such as liners, piston rings, piston crown and piston skirt as well as scavenge air receiver to be visually checked and measurements to be obtained. Photographic evidence, measurement records and report with inspection findings and recommendations to be provided to customer
